The First Mate or Chief Officer is the right hand of the Captain, taking over command as required. They share the Captain’s responsibilities and take responsibility for the safe operation of the vessel.

Stewards/Stewardess’ are responsible for the overall maintenance of the interior, preparing and serving meals on larger vessels, managing the interior department and training. They provide a highly personal service to the guests and are on call day or night.

The Electrician is in charge of the electrical systems onboard including circuit breakers, switches, lighting and batteries. They are also in charge of liaising with subcontractors and conducting regular maintenance on electrical and technical equipment.
